How Many Days Do You Need at LEGOLAND Florida? A Comprehensive Guide

When planning a trip to LEGOLAND Florida, one of the most common questions that comes to mind is, “How many days do I need?” With so many rides, shows, and activities to experience, it can be overwhelming trying to decide how much time to allocate. As a theme park enthusiast and frequent visitor to LEGOLAND Florida, I am here to provide a comprehensive guide on how many days you need to fully enjoy the park.

Firstly, let’s establish what LEGOLAND Florida has to offer. The park is divided into several themed sections, including Lego City, Lego Kingdoms, Lego Miniland USA, Lego Movie World, and more. Each area is filled with rides, attractions, and shows that cater to all age groups. In addition to the main theme park, there is also a water park and a Peppa Pig Theme Park (which we will not be focusing on in this guide).

One Day at LEGOLAND Florida: Is It Enough?

The short answer is no. One day at LEGOLAND Florida is not enough time to fully experience everything the park has to offer. However, if you are limited on time or are only interested in certain areas of the park, one day can be enough. But for those looking to make the most of their visit, I highly recommend allowing at least two days.

Peppa Pig Theme Park at LEGOLAND Florida

On a recent trip to the park with my family, we spent one full day at LEGOLAND and were able to experience the majority of the rides and shows (excluding the water park and Peppa Pig). However, we were constantly on the go and did not have much time for breaks or leisurely activities like building and minifigure trading. So while you can technically see everything in one day, it would be a jam-packed and exhausting experience.

Two Days at LEGOLAND Florida: The Ideal Option

As mentioned, allowing two days at LEGOLAND Florida is the ideal option for those who want to fully experience the park without feeling rushed. With two days, you can take your time, enjoy the shows and attractions, and have time for breaks in between. This is especially important for families with young children, who may tire easily.

    LEGOLAND Florida Unikitty's Disco Drop

One major benefit of allowing two days is that you can enjoy the popular rides multiple times without having to wait in long lines. For example, we were able to ride the Unikitty’s Disco Drop (a family favorite) three times in a row as the line was short during our second day. This would not have been possible if we had only one day at the park.

Tips for Making the Most out of Your Visit

If you only have one day to spend at LEGOLAND Florida, here are some tips to help you make the most of your visit:

    1. Prioritize Your Must-Do Rides: Before your visit, research the rides and attractions at the park and make a list of your must-do’s. This will help you plan your day and ensure you don’t miss out on your top picks.
    2. Arrive Early: As with any theme park, arriving early is key to avoiding long lines and crowds. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the park opens to be one of the first in line for popular rides.
    3. Take Advantage of FasTrack i.e., Fast Pass: LEGOLAND Florida offers a virtual queuing system called “FasTrack,” which allows you to skip the regular lines on 3 coasters with FasTrack 3-pack or skip the lines ALL DAY with FasTrack Unlimited. This can save you a significant amount of time, especially during peak hours.
    4. Visit on a Weekday: If possible, try to visit LEGOLAND Florida on a weekday rather than a weekend or holiday. The park tends to be less crowded on weekdays, allowing you to get more done in a shorter amount of time.
    5. Take Breaks: With so many fun things to do at LEGOLAND Florida, it can be tempting to try and do it all in one go. However, remember to take breaks, especially if you have young children. This will help you avoid burnout and make the most of your visit.

    Final Thoughts

In conclusion, while one day may be enough to see everything at LEGOLAND Florida, allowing two days is the ideal option for a more enjoyable and less rushed experience. In two days, you’ll have time to fully immerse yourself in the park and make memories that will last a lifetime. Regardless of how much time you have to spare, LEGOLAND Florida is a must-visit destination for any theme park enthusiast or Lego fan. Happy building and happy exploring!

Fast Cars and Big Fun: LEGOLAND Florida’s New Ferrari Build & Race Attraction!

    0

Attention all LEGO and car enthusiasts! There’s a new attraction at LEGOLAND Florida that you won’t want to miss! The park recently opened their highly anticipated Ferrari Build & Race attraction, and it’s sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike.

Located in the Funtown area of the park, the Ferrari Build & Race attraction features a life-sized replica of the Ferrari 296 GTS, made entirely out of LEGO bricks. With its iconic red color and detailed design, this model is a sight to behold. But the fun doesn’t stop at just admiring the car from afar – visitors can actually step inside and explore its intricate interior. And for an added touch of realism, the doors even open!

But the real excitement begins when guests are invited to build and race their very own LEGO Ferrari cars. The experience starts with a visit from the pit crew, donning LEGO brick suits, as they share some interesting facts about the history and production of Ferrari cars. Did you know that Ferrari was founded in 1947 in Italy? And since then, they have produced thousands of cars for fans all over the world.

After the brief introduction, it’s time to put your creative skills to the test. Guests are given a set of LEGO bricks and instructed to build their own version of a Ferrari car. With wheels, engines, and steering wheels at their disposal, they can let their imagination run wild. And once their masterpiece is complete, it’s time to take it for a spin!

But this isn’t your typical amusement park ride. At the Ferrari Build & Race attraction, guests can choose from different tracks to race their cars on, from small ramps for Duplo cars to larger ramps for standard-sized LEGO cars. For added excitement, there’s even a jump ramp that will send your car soaring through the air. And don’t worry, if your car doesn’t make it all the way, there are replay screens that capture the action from a bird’s-eye view.

But the fun doesn’t end there. After seeing your car physically race down the track, visitors can also upload their creations into the digital realm. With a designated area for digital racing, guests can watch their car navigate a replica of the legendary Italian racetrack that Ferrari uses for testing their F1 and luxury sports cars. And with the ability to control the speed and lane changes, the digital racing experience is just as thrilling as the physical one.

NEW Ferrari Build Race Opens At LEGOLAND Florida Life Sized Car Made Of LEGO

But that’s not all LEGOLAND has to offer. While you’re in Funtown, be sure to check out their other new additions – including a 4D show in the Funtown Theater called “Lego Dreamzzz.” And for those who love aquatic creatures, be on the lookout for the new Sea Life Aquarium coming in fall 2024, which will be included with admission to LEGOLAND.

But back to racing. The Ferrari Build & Race attraction is suitable for all ages, making it a perfect family-friendly activity. With Duplo tracks and cars available for younger children, no one is left out of the fun. And for parents who may not be as skilled in LEGO building as their kids, there are examples of cars to give you some inspiration. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for some friendly competition – who will have the fastest car?

Overall, the Ferrari Build & Race attraction at LEGOLAND Florida is a must-visit for anyone who loves LEGO and fast cars. With the opportunity to build, race, and digitally race your own Ferrari, it’s a unique and exciting experience that can’t be missed. LEGO Ferrari Build and Race now open at LEGOLAND Florida

    0

Today in Winter Haven, Florida, LEGOLAND Florida Resort kicked off the spring break travel season by unveiling its latest attraction, LEGO Ferrari Build and Race. This interactive experience allows guests to take on the role of a car designer, crafting their own race cars entirely using LEGO bricks. Once the cars are built, guests can put them to the test with cutting-edge digital technology and thrilling real-life racing scenarios.

Rex Jackson, Managing Director of LEGOLAND Parks, North America, expressed his excitement about the new attraction, stating, “LEGO Ferrari Build and Race is a one-of-a-kind experience at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, showcasing the worldwide fascination with Ferrari and F1 racing. It challenges visitors to unleash their creativity, build their dream LEGO Ferrari car, and race towards victory.”

At the heart of the attraction stands the breathtaking life-size LEGO Ferrari 296 GTS model, meticulously constructed with over 424,000 LEGO elements over 1,850 hours. A dedicated LEGOLAND “pit crew,” comprising a designer, six Master Model Builders, and three animators, spared no effort in ensuring that every detail of the model mirrored that of a real Ferrari 296 GTS. Measuring 15 feet in length, 7 1/2 feet in width, and 4 feet in height, this two-ton masterpiece features functioning headlights, an accessible driver’s side door, and a powerful engine, serving as the focal point of the attraction’s captivating “garage,” enticing guests to immerse themselves in the world of F1 racing.

A Ferrari representative expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Merlin Entertainments, emphasizing the initiative to engage Ferrari enthusiasts of all generations. Following the triumph of previous LEGO Ferrari Build and Race installations at LEGOLAND California Resort, LEGOLAND? Billund in Denmark, and LEGOLAND Windsor in the UK, the spokesperson revealed the joy of extending the attraction’s reach to LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

Upon admiring the remarkable model, young aspiring racers, accompanied by their parents, can unleash their creativity at three distinct build and test zones. Here, they have the opportunity to construct their own LEGO Ferrari cars and put them through the paces on race tracks, jump courses, and engine test circuits. Each area presents varying challenges, obstacles, and the thrill of setting the fastest lap times.

Upon fine-tuning their vehicles, guests engage with digital technology to scan their cars and engage in virtual racing on the track. This interactive experience allows for full customization, enabling guests to digitally adjust various aspects of their LEGO car, such as engine size, tire specifications, power, and aerodynamics, as well as adding personalized touches like license plates and colorful stickers.

Participants are allotted three laps to achieve their fastest time, utilizing touchpads to provide their car with extra acceleration and the ability to switch lanes. A spirit of camaraderie is fostered as all guests are invited to partake in the excitement, rooting for each race participant while keeping track of the real-time updated leaderboards.

At LEGOLAND Florida Resort, even the youngest drivers can partake in pint-sized enjoyment by crafting their own designs in the LEGO DUPLO build zone, which features larger bricks tailored for smaller hands.

Jackson expressed, “This attraction further solidifies our enduring partnership with Ferrari. LEGO Ferrari Build and Race has swiftly captivated guests at LEGOLAND California Resort, and now our East Coast visitors can indulge in the joy of designing and racing LEGO cars repeatedly.”

The grand opening festivities are set to continue at LEGOLAND Florida Resort throughout the weekend, with the park offering commemorative checkered flags to the initial 5,000 visitors at the attraction. Additionally, a special new ticket promotion kicks off today, valid until June 14. During this period, a child ticket (ages 2-12) for LEGOLAND Florida Resort is priced at just $29 when purchased alongside at least one full-priced adult ticket in the same transaction.

Inclusion in the admission fee to LEGOLAND Florida Resort and LEGO Ferrari Build and Race promises an enriching experience for all visitors. For details on ticket prices, annual passes, and further information, be sure to visit LEGOLAND.com for official information.

12 Tips to Master Your LEGOLAND Florida Trip

    0

If you’ve got LEGO-obsessed kids (or maybe a secret inner child that just loves those bricks), LEGOLAND Florida is a dream come true. Imagine rides based on your favorite LEGO characters, enormous brick creations everywhere you look, and that sense of limitless imagination driving the entire experience.

But venturing into LEGOLAND without a game plan? That’s a bit like building a giant tower without a base plate – things can get chaotic. Let’s make sure your trip is an awesome adventure you’ll remember for years to come. Here are 12 essential tips to transform you into a LEGOLAND pro:

    1. Conquer the Crowds: Timing is Everything

Think of crowds like those mischievous LEGO villains – they always pop up when you least want them. To outsmart them, visit during the weekdays or, even better, the off-season. Weekends and summer holidays are when the park turns into a bustling brick metropolis. But have no fear – you can still plan an incredible trip during peak seasons, we’ll cover strategies for that later.

    2. Plan Your Attack: Chart Your Course

Ever build a LEGO set without the directions? It’s possible, but frustrating. Before you go, get the lay of the land by downloading the LEGOLAND Florida app. Scope out the must-ride attractions and map out a loose plan of attack for the day. This app is your trusty sidekick, giving you ride wait times and show schedules so you can maximize your time.

    3. Pack Like a Pro: Fuel the Fun

LEGOLAND lets you bring in your own food and drinks (just leave the jumbo coolers at home!). Bringing snacks saves you serious cash and helps those hangry meltdowns stay at bay. Pack plenty of water too – Florida sunshine means you’ll need to stay hydrated, young and old.

    4. Gear Up: From Suits to Shades

Florida weather can be fickle, much like picking the perfect LEGO piece from that giant bin. One minute it’s all sunshine, then BAM! – an afternoon downpour. Pack those ponchos or light rain jackets just in case. A change of clothes for the little ones wouldn’t hurt either. And don’t forget the essentials: sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are your defense squad against those strong Florida rays.

    5. Reserve Your Spot: The Early Bird Gets the Brick

Want to beat the rush and grab prime seating for those awesome shows? Make show reservations! The Legoland app lets you snag your spot early so you can focus on fun, not fighting for a view. It’s like being first in line to buy a new LEGO set!

    6. Become a Water Park Wizard

If you’re planning on splashing around in the LEGOLAND Water Park, get ready to have a blast! It’s a tad smaller than your usual water parks and geared towards a younger crowd, but the LEGO theming makes it special. Bring your swimsuits, towels, and a waterproof bag for your valuables – trust me, no one enjoys a soggy phone.

    7. Capture the Memories: Phone vs. Camera

This one’s a tough call. Your phone’s great for those quick, candid shots. But if you want those truly amazing photos to print and hang later, consider bringing a dedicated camera. LEGOLAND is so visually awesome that a real camera lets you capture all the amazing little details.

    8. Embrace the Inner Child: Playtime Matters

LEGOLAND Florida - LEGO Ferrari “Build and Race” experience
    Credit: LEGOLAND Florida

Sure, the rides are the star of the show, but don’t forget to take play breaks! LEGO building stations are sprinkled around the park, perfect for little hands to create and imagine. Let your kids guide you in their own brick-building adventure – even you might learn a new trick or two!

    9. Master the Wait Times: Patience is Key

Even with the best planning, lines happen. Think of those wait times as an opportunity! Play “I Spy” with LEGO-themed objects, use a wait-time app to compare lines in different areas, have a snack break, or, my personal favorite, people-watch. Sometimes, the most entertaining part of a theme park is your fellow visitors.

    10. Let Loose: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Things won’t always go according to plan. Rides might break down, kids might get tired, and there’s always a rogue brick on the ground ready to attack your feet! Accept that unexpected twists are part of the adventure, like mixing those weird-colored LEGO pieces into your building project. Embrace the chaos and keep focused on the big picture – you’re at LEGOLAND having fun!

    11. Budget Wisely: Stretch those LEGO Dollars

Hey Parents! Kids Go Free to LEGOLAND 2023

Theme parks can put a dent in your wallet faster than dropping a LEGO creation. Do your research on ticket deals and hotel-park packages beforehand. Sometimes you can grab some fantastic bargains (especially during the off-season!). If you have little builders at home, check out if LEGOLAND is offering any “Kids Go Free” promotions – that can be a huge money saver.

    12. Stay and Play: Consider On-Site Hotels

Staying at a LEGOLAND hotel kicks the awesome factor up a notch. Not only are they super-themed, but they also offer early park access, giving you first dibs on popular rides before the rest of the crowd descends. Picture rolling out of bed and hopping on your favorite ride as the park opens – now that’s a sweet way to start your day!

Calling all LEGO lovers! Ready to take your LEGOLAND experience to the next level? Book now, and not only will you secure your stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel, but you’ll also unlock the ultimate early admission into the park! Don’t wait, embrace the magic and start building unforgettable memories today. Hurry, limited availability – reserve your spot now!

PIRATE RIVER QUEST – HISTORICAL FACTS

    • Considered Florida’s first tourist attraction, Cypress Gardens botanical gardens first opened to the public on January 2, 1936, and operated until 2003, reopening as Cypress Gardens Adventure Park from 2004 until 2009.
    • Boats began taking guests on tours through the canals of Cypress Gardens in 1938 and would become an iconic element of the gardens until 2003. Twenty years later, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is excited to bring back the historic canal boats with a LEGO® twist!
    • Pirate River Quest utilizes much of the same canal route as the original attraction, with the finale taking guests out onto Lake Eloise for a view of the gardens that are not often seen.
    • A few of the boats at Pirate River Quest have been named in honor of various parts of Cypress Gardens and LEGO history. Be sure to keep an eye out for Pope’s Plunder (named after the original founders of Cypress Gardens, Dick and Julie Pope), Kristiansen’s Ketch (named after the founder of The LEGO Group, Ole Kirk Kristiansen), The Cypress Belle and The Treasure of Eloise.
    • While aboard Pirate River Quest, guests will get a special view of the historic Florida Pool, initially built as a film set for the 1953 MGM film “Easy to Love” starring Esther Williams.

Storm damage forced the Peppa Pig Theme Park to close

    0

Tuesday night’s storms forced the closure of Peppa Pig Theme Park for Wednesday.

The park in Winter Haven issued a message explaining the shutdown on its social media pages, citing storm damage as the reason. No details as to what attractions were damaged in the theme park.

Peppa Pig Theme Park tweeted on August 3 that it would be closed that day because of storm damage sustained the night before.

Thursday is when the park hopes to reopen to the public.

Please email [email protected] if you have tickets for Wednesday and need to reschedule your visit.

Opening in February was Peppa Pig Theme Park, the first of its kind based on the popular children’s television show. The park, which is right next to LEGOLAND Florida, has a number of rides and attractions based on different themes, as well as a restaurant and a gift store.

LEGOLAND Florida has launched an interactive space experience.

    0

The Imagination Zone at LEGOLAND Florida now includes Lego City Space, an attraction with a lunar theme that encourages guests to go on an adventure.

Visitors construct Lego replicas of lunar rovers and rockets and put them through mock flight tests.

“Young people can develop a comprehensive model… And it’s a fantastically themed place to be,” said LEGOLAND Florida’s director of operations, Nick Miller.

They won’t just build something to gawk at later, you know. He explained that whatever it was that they were planning to construct would serve some sort of function. Our plan is to do it on a lunar mission, during which we will either test our rocket or our rover.

Imagination Zone is home to the LEGO City Space and other hands-on exhibits and activities.

LEGOLAND Florida hosts a weekend of space-themed excitement with Lunar Launch Camp.

    0

From July 9-10, 2022, Legoland Florida Resort will launch Lunar Launch Camp, which will include space-themed build stations, face painting, giveaways, and more. And it’s all included in the price of park admission.

For the first time, Miniland USA in Legoland Florida will host the two-day event, inviting families to participate in activities such as visiting a “spaceport” to launch a rocket, assisting in the assembly of parts for a moon mosaic, and assisting in the construction of a giant working Lego telescope.

Families can participate in the fun at five interactive stations located in Miniland USA’s shaded area near the space shuttle display.

Interactive stations at the Lunar Launch Camp:

    • Painting titled “Space”
    • Photo booth for the Mission to the Moon
    • Launch of a spaceport rocket
    • Mosaic of the Moon
    • Construction of a Telescope

Guests can receive an unique badge at each point along the journey.

The Lunar Launch Camp is included with park entrance and some annual passes. If there is inclement weather this weekend, all events will be canceled.

Guests can experience all of the park’s rides, attractions, and entertainment in addition to Lunar Launch Camp. Pirate River Quest, the park’s newest ride, will open on November 2, 2022. Those who want to stay longer can do so at one of three Legoland Florida hotels, including the Pirate Island Hotel.

LEGOLAND Florida 4th of July 2022 Red, White & BOOM

    0

With the return of the “Red, White & Boom!” fireworks display, Legoland Florida is once more celebrating the 4th of July in a spectacular manner.

The Fourth of July-themed event takes place July 2-4, 2022, and features the “Touch the Sky” patriotic fireworks display over Lake Eloise. Additionally, special fireworks glasses will be distributed to visitors, turning the light show into exploding Lego blocks.

On those three nights, the park’s fireworks display begins at 9pm.

There will also be July 4th themed activities throughout the day, such as helping to construct a huge American flag made of Lego blocks. General admission to Legoland Florida includes access to all events.

Please be aware that event activities may be canceled due to bad weather because the Sunshine State does see its fair share of summer thunderstorms.

The Winter Haven theme park is currently hosting its Awe-Summer Event, which runs through August 7 and includes special Lego Friends Weekends and “Red, White, and Boom!” On July 9, there will also be a Lego City Space Day with galactic build stations, a giant telescope build, and space-themed giveaways.

The theme park will also help celebrate the Lego Group’s 90th anniversary, with more details coming soon. The Lego Group was founded in Denmark on August 10, 1932.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is the first of its kind to be designated as a Certified Autism Center.

    0

The first theme park resort to be designated as a Certified Autism Center (CAC) is LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The LEGOLAND Theme Park, LEGOLAND Water Park, LEGOLAND Hotel, LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, and Peppa Pig Theme Park, which opened in February just steps away from LEGOLAND, are all part of this Resort-wide CAC designation. The CAC certification is awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to organizations that complete guest-facing staff training and certification, as well as other requirements such as providing accommodations for visitors with cognitive differences.

IBCCES conducted an onsite review for autistic visitors and their families to provide additional recommendations and options. The IBCCES also recommended sensory guides to help guests understand and plan for the sensory impacts of each ride or attraction. The IBCCES training program covers topics such as understanding autism, communication strategies, and best practices for enhancing the onsite experience. The training program includes input from industry experts as well as perspectives from autistic people. To maintain certification, the certification requires ongoing continuous learning, IBCCES support, and periodic renewal requirements.

“We are proud that LEGOLAND Florida Resort has partnered with The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to earn our designation as a Certified Autism Center™ across LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, Water Park, three on-site hotels, and the all-new Peppa Pig Theme Park,” said Kelly Hornick, Head of Marketing & Communications for LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Peppa Pig Theme Park. “We are passionate about being the Resort for families to build awesome vacation memories, and we are thankful to our partners at IBCCES for helping us be more welcoming and more inclusive to more families, including those with sensory needs.”

Due to a lack of staff training and understanding, the potential for sensory overload, and the need for flexible options or accommodations, many autistic people and those with sensory sensitivities may find it difficult to visit new places or plan family trips. IBCCES created training and certification programs for attractions, hotels, zoos, aquariums, and other recreational locations in response to this need, ensuring that all families and individuals can create memories and have fun.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort will provide the following services as Certified Autism Centers:

    • Front-line team members who have been trained and are equipped to better assist autistic guests and those with other sensory sensitivities, allowing them to enjoy their stay at the resort.
    • A sensory guide for each attraction that explains how each of the five senses affects the attraction or ride, making it easier for individuals and families to plan activities that fit their needs and accommodations.
    • Low sensory areas for guests with sensory sensitivities to relax in a less stimulating environment
    • An updated Accessibility Guide will be available at www.legoland.com/florida/ and Guest Relations areas.

“IBCCES is thrilled to partner with LEGOLAND Florida Resort to help them enhance the guest experience in this unique setting that provides a comprehensive experience for families to stay and play together,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman. “Their commitment to ongoing training and accessibility enhancements helps ensure there are more options for families to make memories together that we all cherish.”

IBCCES has been a leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for healthcare, education, and corporate professionals around the world for more than 20 years. IBCCES is the only credentialing organization that offers this type of certification, which includes evidence-based training as well as autistic perspectives, as well as other tools and resources like onsite reviews and customized recommendations, as well as renewal requirements to ensure that the program is a long-term commitment with a lasting impact.

AutismTravel.com along with IBCCES have developed, a free online resource for parents that includes a list of certified destinations as well as links to other resources and other families. The Certified Autism Center (CAC) requirements have been met by all of the destinations listed on the site.

The Dragon and the Best Rides at LEGOLAND Florida 2022

    0

    The Dragon

Despite the fact that The Dragon rollercoaster has been at LEGOLAND Florida since the park’s inception in 2011, it is still regarded as one of the park’s best rides. As soon as you leave the loading station, you’ll notice the extensive Mid-evil LEGO theming, which extends all the way to the four-story lift and drop. It’s no surprise that The Dragon is one of the park’s most popular attractions. It’s easy to see why the ride is a family favorite.

We worked hard with aRes Travel to get you the best discount for LEGOLAND Florida tickets and Peppa Pig Theme Park possible.

    Coastersoarus

A crazy journey through the jungle awaits you with Coastersaurus! It twists and dips its way through a prehistoric forest packed with animated and life-sized LEGO brick dinosaurs on this family-friendly wooden roller coaster. While visiting LEGOLAND Florida, make sure to take part in this kid-friendly thrill ride!

MASTERS OF FLIGHT: THE LEGO MOVIE

Emmet’s Triple Decker Flying Couch awaits you! This flying theater attraction transports guests on an action-packed adventure on a suspended ride with a full-dome virtual screen, giving the sensation of flying alongside some familiar and some new faces, including Sweet Mayhem, a character who first appeared in the feature THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART. The one-of-a-kind attraction is the first in a major US theme park to incorporate a 180-degree turn into the ride experience.

    The Great LEGO Race

Start your engines, Brick fans! On a thrilling roller coaster, become the focal point of an action-packed road rally! The Great LEGO Race immerses guests in an action-packed road rally where the laws of physics and aerodynamics only apply loosely. In 2018, LEGOLAND added a virtual reality overlay to its Project X roller coaster. Passengers wear virtual reality goggles and watch computer-animated visuals of a LEGO-themed race. The VR action mimics the movements of a roller coaster. Visitors who aren’t used to roller coasters may find the wild mouse track layout frightening because the VR goggles will obscure their view and prevent them from seeing the upcoming turns, hills, and drops.

    LEGOLAND Miniland USA

Shade from the hot Florida sun is now available at Miniland USA. This structure will keep the LEGO bricks from fading and will provide much-needed shade for the visitors. This will also be an excellent place to visit if and when it rains. Miniland USA has several themed areas made entirely of LEGOs. The Daytona International Speedway in Florida, the Kennedy Space Center, Pirate’s Shores in California, New York, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas are all on display in every brick detail. It took LEGOLAND more than 20 million bricks to build these nine Miniland USA areas, which are considered the park’s heart.

As an added bonus, below are two more attractions that must be visited but are not included in the normal admission price to LEGOLAND Florida. I thought it was worth mentioning because they are enjoyable experiences that should not be missed.

    LEGOLAND Water Park

It’s not huge, but LEGOLAND’s Water Park has enough slides and other wet fun to keep you cool in Florida’s heat and humidity. Attractions like the Build-a-Raft River cleverly incorporate the LEGO theme. It allows passengers to create on their own tubes out of oversized LEGO blocks and then float down the lazy river on them. Splash and slide your way through a day of fun in the sun with a wave pool, lazy river, four slides, and other interactive LEGO play areas!

*Visitors who want to go to the water park must pay an additional fee and cannot purchase water park-only tickets. Luckily you can find discounted LEGOLAND Water Park tickets here.

    Peppa Pig Theme Park

Step into the wacky world of Peppa Pig for the ultimate day of fun! Snort, giggle, and play in a theme park specifically designed for “little piggies,” complete with interactive rides and attractions, themed play areas complete with “muddy puddles” water play, and entertaining live shows! Meet Peppa and her family on your child’s best day ever as you create your first theme park memories together! Six rides, six themed playscapes, a water play area, and even more oinktastic experiences have been revealed for the World’s First Peppa Pig Theme Park.

It should be noted that admission to the Peppa Pig Theme Park is separate from admission to the LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park. Luckily you can find discounted Peppa Pig Theme Park tickets here.

    Conclusion

There you have it folks, our choice of best rides at LEGOLAND Florida for 2022. If you have any suggestions to this list please let me hear them below in the comments section.

Peppa Pig Theme Park is now open at LEGOLAND Florida

    0

Preschoolers, rejoice! It’s time for a real-life Peppa Pig party!

The public can now visit the Peppa Pig Theme Park. The vibrant theme park-meets-playground is ideal for any Peppa Pig fan and their family. It is designed for children aged 6 and under.

Guests enter the theme park, which is located at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, through a massive rainbow gate and are instantly immersed in Peppa’s world. Play areas such as the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad, which is filled with sprouting fountains and slippery slides, and Rebecca Rabbit’s Playground, a large open space filled with swings, climbing equipment, and other activities, provide plenty of space for energetic preschoolers to run and explore.

“I feel like every single parent on the way home from Peppa Pig Theme Park will have that adorable picture of the kid passed out in the car seat because this is just such a beautiful park with interaction everywhere,” says Kelly Hornick, head of marketing and communications at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Peppa Pig Theme Park. “The little ones get a day just for them here: the entire park is really designed with them in mind.”

The six specially designed rides for children scattered throughout the park only add to the fun.

There’s Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, a hot air balloon ride in the sky with a view of the entire park. Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure allows children to wrangle a dinosaur and ride it along a prehistoric trail. And, on Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, kids and adults alike will enjoy a fun, fast-paced ride in Daddy Pig’s red car to Peppa’s house.

According to Nick Miller, the resort’s director of operations, the coaster, which travels only 14 feet in the air and at a maximum speed of 16 miles per hour, is ideal for a child’s first roller coaster.

The coaster “has two laps and a really low height requirement — just 36 inches,” Miller says. “We really designed it for the kids, but I’m hearing that their parents are enjoying it as well. It’s the ideal’my first roller coaster’ ride for kids.”

There are plenty of ways to relax after a morning of playing, whether it’s digging for buried treasure in sand pits loaded with shovels or playing free carnival-style games at the Fun Fair.

At Miss Rabbit’s Diner, children can order classics like macaroni and cheese or cheese pizza, while parents can order meals designed for adults, such as a smoked brisket sandwich or a rice and veggie bowl with chicken. And the whole family can cool off with sweet treats like the Muddy Puddles Milkshake, a chocolate shake topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cookie, or the Mud Cup, the park’s take on classic dirt cake.

Does your child need a break from all the fun and action?

The Cinema is a cool, dark space filled with massive bean bags that can easily accommodate an entire family. Peppa Pig episodes are shown on a large screen while families relax and enjoy a break from the Florida heat.

The enormous bean bags reappear on the lawn of Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena, where shows featuring Peppa Pig and her younger brother George in fuzzy character form take place throughout the day.

It’s also possible to meet  Peppa and George. As they spend the entire day at the theme park waving and talking to visitors. They also pose for photographs.

Hornick, a mother of two preschoolers, claims that the entire park was created with young children in mind.

“This park is about the ultimate day of adventure for a preschooler,” says Hornick. “We want every family to have the most wonderful day ever.”

With the addition of Peppa Pig Theme Park to LEGOLAND Florida Resort, the resort is now a multi-day destination. On-site attractions include the LEGOLAND Theme Park, the LEGOLAND Water Park, and the Peppa Pig Theme Park, as well as three hotels that Hornick describes as “awesomely themed.”

“We’re Florida’s first preschooler theme park, which is really exciting,” says Hornick. “When you look at what LEGOLAND Florida has to offer, you’ll notice that we’ve really nailed the 2–12-year-old demographic. We’ve seen older kids get excited about the attractions at LEGOLAND Florida, but we saw this as an excellent opportunity to bring in the younger ones.”

The park is also intended to include all children. The entire LEGOLAND Florida Resort recently became a Certified Autism Center after partnering with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Staff at the park took classes to learn how to be more sensitive and aware of people with autism in order to obtain the accreditation.

“Through the collaboration, we also had IBCCES rank all of the attractions against the five senses,” Hornick explains. “Different levels on the autism spectrum may mean you have an aversion to certain sights, smells, or sounds — every child is a little bit different — so having these tools and the ranks for each of the five senses at these attractions allows parents to have that information in advance and plan out their day based on how their child may react.”

In addition to placards at each ride’s entrance, information ranking each experience based on how it affects each of the senses will be available on the park’s website and app.

The park has also made efforts to make it wheelchair accessible. The Muddy Puddles Splash Pad is wheelchair accessible, and Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride has a gondola large enough for children in wheelchairs to roll onto the attraction without having to transfer.

Single-day tickets to Peppa Pig Theme Park cost slightly more than $30 if purchased in advance online. Admission can also be combined with admission to the LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, which starts at $135. Annual passes are also available.

Hornick, who can’t wait to bring her own children to the theme park, believes the addition to LEGOLAND Florida Resort will allow families to spend even more time creating memories at the destination.

“Peppa Pig Theme Park is this beautiful blend of attractions you dream about as a kid, the ones you would stand in line for, but also the playgrounds where there are no lines and you can just have fun and be a kid,” she says. Our kids, especially lately, just want to get outside, be with their families, and have fun, and this park is the perfect place for them to do so.”

LEGOLAND is no longer making food for its guests.

    1

The food operations of the LEGOLAND theme parks in California and Florida will be outsourced to Aramark, according to parent company Merlin Entertainments.

In addition to the two US theme parks, the multi-year contract includes food and beverage operations at Alton Towers Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Warwick Castle, and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort in the United Kingdom.

“Aramark will introduce food and beverage programs that offer family and guest favorites, fresh concepts, fun themes, and engaging events at Merlin Entertainments’ resorts and hotels across the seven locations, coupled with industry-leading technology solutions to make it easy and convenient for visitors to navigate the varied choices,” the company said in a press release. “Based on the personality of the venue, each resort and hotel will have its own distinct portfolio of food and beverage services.”

Aramark manages foodservice and hospitality operations for colleges, sports stadiums, hospitals, and tourist sites all over the world. The transition to Aramark operations will take place in the UK parks this March, and in California and Florida by the end of March 2023. Employees in the food and beverage departments at certain theme parks will no longer work for Merlin and will instead work for Aramark.

According to the press release, “Merlin Entertainments and Aramark will work closely to ensure that food and beverage personnel are supported as they transition to employment with Aramark.” For more information about the employment issue, I contacted a LEGOLAND official.

“Part of our continuous business plan to give the absolute best guest days out and short breaks is to build an innovative and high-quality food and beverage offering for our visitors,” Merlin CEO Nick Varney said. “Aramark’s achievements in leading world-class hospitality programs at many of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, iconic locations, and leading destinations make them a great partner to elevate our food offering as part of the magic and memorable experiences we offer our guests,” says the company.

Some online reviews for Aramark don’t sound too appealing:

I can’t believe an entire theme park chain would stoop to this level. On top of it, they hired one of the absolute WORST F&B vendors in Aramark, who continually gets poor reviews from their stadium and event pavilion operations. I’ve been to MLB stadiums around the country, and the ones with the most boring, cookie cutter offerings are undoubtedly serviced by Aramark.

Hopefully this is not the start of a trend.

    Here’s another one:

I agree with Robert, the food at Legoland (and Thorpe Park for that matter) was nothing to remember, and this is a great way to ensure it stays that way.

MINILAND USA at LEGOLAND Florida reopens with a fully functional shade structure.

    0
Miniland USA, one of LEGOLAND Florida’s most iconic sections, has reopened with a brand new shade structure to commemorate the park’s 10-year anniversary.

What’s New: LEGOLAND Florida has announced that their Miniland USA section of the park is now fully open AND fully shaded, as part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations.

    LEGOLAND Miniland USA shaded area

The tweet stated: “Did anyone else notice how much COOLER things were in MINILAND today? THAT’S RIGHT, PARTY GUYS! MINILAND HAS REOPENED WITH A BRAND NEW SHADE STRUCTURE!”

    LEGOLAND Florida Miniland Twitter

The park announced a slew of fun for the park’s 10th-anniversary celebrations in October 2020, including new shows, events, a 4D Movie, and shade structures installed over the park’s Miniland. More news came during the 10th-anniversary celebrations in September 2021, along with the opening of The LEGOLAND Story and other festivities; Miniland was set to reopen on October 15th.

    LEGOLAND Miniland USA shaded area
Only a portion of the park’s area was reopened with completed shade structures at the time. Despite this, many of the city landmarks and skyline models remained inaccessible as work on the land continued.

Now that the work is finished, guests can return to Miniland and see models of:

    • California, including Los Angeles and San Francisco
    • Florida, including Daytona International Speedway and Kennedy Space Center
    • Las Vegas
    • Washington, D.C.
    • New York City

The area, known to park visitors as a great place to get a tan (at best), provides a glimpse into the brilliant work of LEGO Builders and, thankfully, a relief from the Central Florida sun.

Even the official website recognizes the change, stating, “That’s right, for our 10th birthday, we’ve been given the gift of cool, sweet shade! This year, LEGOLAND’s most iconic area underwent a cool transformation and is now OPEN with a new shade structure that will bring even more enjoyment to this beloved land.”

Peppa Pig Theme Park to open as Certified Autism Center at LEGOLAND Florida Resort

    1

November 18, 2021 – On February 24, 2022, the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park will open as an Autism Center. At today’s IAAPA Expo in Orlando, the new Park revealed its newly built ride vehicle, which offers better accessibility for children in wheelchairs. An accessibility guide for the Park’s six rides, six themed playscapes, and water play area is also in the works.

When the Peppa Pig Theme Park opens in February 2022, small piggies and their families can take a ride in a hot air balloon.

Guests will enjoy the journey in creative hot air balloon-shaped baskets that allow children who use wheelchairs to roll right on without having to transfer. The Merlin Magic Making creative and project delivery team worked together with the ride makers to develop this adaption so more youngsters could enjoy it safely with an adult partner. This is part of a bigger promise by Merlin Entertainments to provide attractions for all guests, regardless of ability.

Aside from this unique ride, the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad is a kid-friendly water play activity. Water play features of various heights will be coordinated for the delight of all guests and abilities. This contains a wheelchair-accessible water hoops tunnel and other interactive splash surprises at varying heights.

On dry ground, explorers and “little piggies” will find more entertaining experiences built with accessibility in mind. Children who use wheelchairs may navigate and experience Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour’s sensory-rich track without leaving their wheelchair. Its lovely, greenery-covered maze walls have also been plotted according to fulfill ADA criteria. Also, all Fun Fair free game counters are built at accessible heights so that everyone may enjoy them.

When Peppa Pig Theme Park opens on February 24, 2022, it will also be accredited as a Certified Autism Center (CAC) by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. In addition to staff training, IBCCES will collaborate with the Peppa Pig Theme Park to enhance in-park communications. The training covers sensory awareness, environment, communication, physical and social skills, program development, and emotional awareness.

After the park opens, it will be required to train employees regularly to guarantee that they are equipped to deal with all special needs children, including those on the autistic spectrum.

In addition to staff training, IBCCES is reviewing the new Park to create a Sensory Guide. This guide reviews every attraction and explains how each of the five senses may affect a child with sensory processing difficulties. This will build a complete planning tool to help parents and families plan activities that meet their child’s individual needs.

To ensure resort-wide accessibility improvements that further establish the parks as really “designed for kids to take the lead”, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, located just steps away from Peppa Pig Theme Park, has committed to earning this accreditation by February 24, 2022.

Certification will be available for LEGOLAND Theme Park, LEGOLAND Water Park, LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel, and LEGOLAND Beach Retreat.

A detailed Accessibility Guide is also being developed for the Peppa Pig Theme Park. This planning tool will help all families understand the different programs and access options available to build the best preschool experience day.
