MINILAND USA at LEGOLAND Florida reopens with a fully functional shade structure.

Miniland USA, one of LEGOLAND Florida’s most iconic sections, has reopened with a brand new shade structure to commemorate the park’s 10-year anniversary.

What’s New: LEGOLAND Florida has announced that their Miniland USA section of the park is now fully open AND fully shaded, as part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations.

The tweet stated: “Did anyone else notice how much COOLER things were in MINILAND today? THAT’S RIGHT, PARTY GUYS! MINILAND HAS REOPENED WITH A BRAND NEW SHADE STRUCTURE!”

The park announced a slew of fun for the park’s 10th-anniversary celebrations in October 2020, including new shows, events, a 4D Movie, and shade structures installed over the park’s Miniland. More news came during the 10th-anniversary celebrations in September 2021, along with the opening of The LEGOLAND Story and other festivities; Miniland was set to reopen on October 15th.

Only a portion of the park’s area was reopened with completed shade structures at the time. Despite this, many of the city landmarks and skyline models remained inaccessible as work on the land continued.

Now that the work is finished, guests can return to Miniland and see models of:

  • California, including Los Angeles and San Francisco
  • Florida, including Daytona International Speedway and Kennedy Space Center
  • Las Vegas
  • Washington, D.C.
  • New York City

The area, known to park visitors as a great place to get a tan (at best), provides a glimpse into the brilliant work of LEGO Builders and, thankfully, a relief from the Central Florida sun.

Even the official website recognizes the change, stating, “That’s right, for our 10th birthday, we’ve been given the gift of cool, sweet shade! This year, LEGOLAND’s most iconic area underwent a cool transformation and is now OPEN with a new shade structure that will bring even more enjoyment to this beloved land.”
