LEGOLAND Florida turned 10 years old in October 2021, and the park marked the milestone with a packed calendar of new attractions, returning seasonal events, and major park improvements. The birthday celebration brought 10 significant additions spanning new shows, seasonal programming, attractions, and infrastructure upgrades — making it one of the biggest years in the park’s history.
🎭 New Entertainment at LEGOLAND Florida’s 10th Birthday
Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show (Opening February 12)
Brickbeard’s buccaneer recruits demonstrated their pirate-readiness in this live, high-energy watersports stunt show. The all-new production featured a never-before-seen female LEGO pirate character, original music, and gravity-defying stunts including wakeboarding, barefoot skiing, the iconic ski pyramid, and an impressive flyboard act. The show built on LEGOLAND Florida’s unique location adjacent to the historic Cypress Gardens property, which has long been known for its water ski shows dating back decades before LEGOLAND acquired the site.
PirateFest Weekends (Select Weekends in February)
With Brickbeard’s new show anchoring the lineup, the entire park was overtaken by a pirate invasion for select weekends. Junior pirates and their families were recruited for daily activities including new character meet-and-greets, themed LEGO build activities, and dance parties. This event marked the first time PirateFest had been expanded into a dedicated weekend series, building on the popularity of the park’s Pirates Cove area.
4D Movie at Fun Town Theater (Spring 2021)
The Fun Town Theater premiered an all-new 4D movie experience, adding an air-conditioned attraction to the park’s entertainment lineup. 4D experiences — which add sensory effects like wind, mist, and motion to a 3D film — were a popular draw for families looking to take a break from Florida’s summer heat.
🧱 New Building and Creative Experiences
Master Model Builders Experience (Spring 2021)
LEGOLAND Florida launched an all-new building center where guests could watch professional Master Model Builders create intricate LEGO sculptures in real time. The experience gave visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the same craft that goes into building the park’s famous LEGO models, including the massive Miniland displays. It was a natural fit for a park that positions creativity and building as central to its identity.
LEGO Friends Weekends (May 2021)
LEGO Friends — the theme centered on five female characters who run a city called Heartlake City — returned for select weekends in May with fanciful builds, music, and character appearances. The event was hosted in Heartlake City, the park’s dedicated LEGO Friends area.
🏗️ Park Improvements and Infrastructure
Miniland Shade Structure (Summer 2021)
One of the most practically significant additions was a new shade structure over Miniland — the park’s most iconic area, featuring miniature LEGO models of American landmarks built from millions of LEGO bricks. The shade structure addressed a long-standing guest complaint about Florida’s intense summer sun making Miniland uncomfortable to explore during peak afternoon hours. With the new coverage, families could now enjoy the area throughout the day rather than only in early morning or evening hours.
LEGO CITY Model Expansions (Summer 2021)
The LEGO City area received new larger-than-life models, adding fresh Insta-worthy photo opportunities throughout the zone. These new additions complemented the existing interactive driving attractions in the area and gave families new reasons to explore the neighborhood.
🎉 Seasonal Celebrations and Summer Programming
Awe-Summer Celebration (June-July 2021)
The annual summer celebration returned bigger than ever, with birthday surprises filling June and July. The event featured live music, extended fireworks on select dates, and special programming tied to the park’s ninja and LEGO Friends themes. Awe-Summer had become a signature seasonal event at LEGOLAND Florida, drawing families looking to combine a theme park visit with Fourth of July festivities in Central Florida.
LEGO CITY Stage Show (Summer 2021)
A new live stage show debuted in LEGO City, bringing interactive entertainment to the heart of the area. The show complemented the existing driving attractions and outdoor entertainment that made LEGO City one of the park’s most popular zones for families with younger children.
🎂 The 10th Birthday Celebration (October 2021)
October brought the main event — the park’s official 10th birthday celebration weekend. The highlight was an enormous LEGO birthday cake built from hundreds of thousands of LEGO bricks, displayed prominently at the park entrance. The celebration attracted local media coverage and drew families who wanted to be part of the milestone. More details about the party weekend were announced throughout the summer leading up to October.

The additions launched during the 10th birthday celebration remain part of the park’s permanent lineup. Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show continues to perform, PirateFest has become an established seasonal event, and the Miniland shade structure has made summer visits significantly more comfortable.
